Born today, on October 23 in Brantford, Ontario ... Lawren Stewart Harris (1885-1970) a Canadian artist and one of the founding members of the Group of Seven.
One of his landscape paintings, Bylot Island, was featured on one of the stamps in Canada's 1967 Centennial Series.

Based on the S on the bottom strike, with what seems to be P.[Q.] and the last four letters DEON on the top one, I'm assuming this is from St. Gédéon, PQ ... written in capital letters without accents. Happy to be corrected. I can't find anything else that fits.
As time goes by ... add to this thread other stamps for other days and other people.
