Its hard to see but is this a pre cancel or a fancy cancel?

I believe that someone will show how to use a tool to better see the cancellation at the digital session. Bring this stamp for reference.
I do not think that it is but maybe the tool can better highlight the cancellation

Hi Gilles / Richard ...
I've had a look at the photo Richard posted. A high-resolution scan would be better for analysis -- the aspect ratio of the posted photo is off as is the focus. However, working with what we have, I've enhanced it as best I could and used Image Sleuth. to bring the text out a wee bit more. Here is a comparison.

It's still a challenge to get a clear view. Maybe someone who has seen this before will recognize it.
While Canadian Precancels are not my thing ... I did check The Standard Precancel Catalogue (7th ed.) and it doesn't look like a precancel to me. The 4c Admiral is listed as having a Style V bar cancel (no text) with only six bars .75mm thick. That's nothing like the one in the above images. As for a city / town precancel, nothing fits. My guess is that it is some sort of machine cancel. Happy to be corrected.
You may want to take it to the club this coming Thursday, or the show on Saturday, and show it to Roy or Jim.
Good luck.
Cheers, Hugh
